Getting out and taking part, your way
Every participant's goals are different. A Pillar Care support worker can accompany and assist you across activities like these — helping you get there, settle in, and take part on your own terms.
Walking & Outdoors
Regular walks, local trails and time outdoors — support to get moving in your own neighbourhood or somewhere new.
Gym & Fitness
Support to get to and take part in gym sessions and fitness classes at your local gym, run by their own instructors.
Boxing & Fitness Classes
Support to attend boxing and fitness classes delivered by local gyms and coaches — we help you get there and take part; the gym or coach runs the session.
Basketball
Getting to and joining in with local basketball at community courts, clubs or social competitions.
Soccer & Footy
Support to attend and take part in local soccer or Australian football with community clubs and social groups.
Social Sport & Competitions
Getting involved in local social sport and community competitions — a support worker alongside you for the day.
Basketball — Register Your Interest
Pillar Care is exploring upcoming inclusive basketball activities for NDIS participants across Greater Melbourne. Register your interest now — this is an expression of interest only, no date or venue is confirmed yet.
Support to attend — not coaching or training
Pillar Care support workers accompany and assist participants to get to, settle into and take part in these activities. Where an activity involves instruction — like a gym program, a fitness class or a boxing session — that instruction is delivered by the gym, club or coach running it, not by Pillar Care. We don't provide personal training, sports coaching or clinical exercise advice, and we don't guarantee any particular fitness or health outcome. Depending on your goals, individual NDIS plan and available funding, support to access and participate in community activities may be delivered under relevant community participation supports. We can discuss how this may apply to your plan.
Built around your own goals
This support suits participants who want support to get out, build a regular routine, and connect with their community through movement and activity — whatever that looks like for you. It's one part of the broader Community Participation support Pillar Care offers. If you're not sure whether it's the right fit, get in touch and we can talk it through.
Getting started
- Get in touch and tell us what you're interested in — a walking group, the gym, a local sport, or something else.
- We talk through how it fits your goals and your NDIS plan, alongside your support coordinator or plan manager if you have one.
- A support worker accompanies and assists you to attend and take part, at the pace and frequency that works for you.
